Ello all! Well I've recently been recording with an 11 piece band and thought I'd
share the results with you. The first two arrangements are from Miles Davis' 1949 album, Birth Of The Cool and the third is a more funky original piece by the guy who runs the band. Hope you like the music....

Man, that last tune sounds like a TV or movie theme from the 60's. Hip shit...the fills are perfect. Ah, the flute solo...

Thanks for the comments, very kind of you all. The last track was fun and in a sort of 'boogaloo' vein. The solo's you heard on that track was a flute in the left speaker and a piccolo out of the right! Two very talented players and the band is made up of some great musicians from London, it's always a pleasure to play with them.

Nice mang! Were those tracks recorded with a click? Also, was it the whole band tracking at once or was it multitracked?
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Hanayalator, none of the tracks were to click and there were no overdubs or drop-ins at all. We were counted off and that was it! I must admit I'm pretty happy with the time and tempo's of the tracks though, considering!

Very cool! I really like the third one. The song jumped right into the iPod!

Are the drums only recorded with overheads? Great result.

Tasty.

Thanks Mathias. The drums had just one overhead that was in mono, nothing on the Bass Drum. There was a stereo pair that was in front of the horns and they picked up the drums too, so the overhead was there mainly for the cymbals.
